An investigation into the welfare of a child in Pulaski County ends with drug charges against the two adults at the home after an active meth lab was reportedly found on the property.
Kasey Cuevas, 25, of Valparaiso, and Christopher D. Bailey, 37, of Winamac, face manufacturing and possession of meth charges, as well as possession of a legend drug or precursor, possession of paraphernalia, maintaining and visiting a common nuisance and minor in place of drug use. A deputy accompanied an investigator from the Division of Family and Children to the home Monday afternoon after reports of drug use at the residence. Cuevas answered the door, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office, and said she was alone. Bailey came out of the bedroom a few minutes later carrying a small bag of what was later identified as methamphetamine, according to police. They obtained a search warrant for outbuildings on the property, which is where they found the alleged meth lab. The Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team seized the 20 items found inside the building.
