Each year on the Fourth of July, the Winamac Kiwanis Club puts on a colorful fireworks show in the sky over the town park.
Putting on a fun fireworks display for our national holiday is one way they provide for local children, which is the mission of the Kiwanis Club. However, this tradition is something people of all ages can look forward to.
Spectators have been enjoying the fireworks display for decades but last year the display cost upwards of $4,500. Due to the rising cost, the Kiwanis Club is seeking help from the community in order to keep admission to the fireworks show free. On Saturday, June 21, a sandwich sale will take place in the parking lot of 800 N. Riverside Dr. and North U.S. 35 in Winamac from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. ET. Individual tickets cost $8 and all area residents are asked to attend the fundraiser.
