The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department has made it easier for you to gather information on inmates including charges, bonds, court dates, court locations, and release dates.
The new Automated Information System (AIS) is operational 24 hours a day for any resident to access the information. Inmates are also able to access the same information from jail telephones.
This newly adopted system was installed at no cost to the taxpayer or jail inmates. The system was paid for out of the inmate commissary fund. According to LaPorte County Sheriff Michael Mollenhauer, this will relieve deputies from the time-consuming task of having to research and answer these questions.
To access the desired information, call (219) 362-6548 or (219) 878-9132.
You may also gather additional information such as the sheriff’s office location and directions, visitation information, instructions on how to place money in an inmate’s commissary account, other agency telephone numbers, and how to leave a short voicemail message for an inmate.
