All positions on the November General Election ballot in Starke County have not been filled, but according to Clerk Evelyn Skronski, the county party chairmen have until Thursday, July 3 at noon to certify the new filings.
Skronski said a full list of candidates could be produced on Tuesday, July 8.
The Republican vacancies that needed to be filled include clerk, auditor, recorder, coroner, assessor, commissioner district 2, several trustee positions, and advisory board candidates. On the Democrat ticket, a county council district 2 candidate was needed along with a North Bend Township Trustee and several advisory board positions.
Pulaski County Clerk Tasha Foerg said one vacancy was filled and that was for the county council district 1 seat on the Republican ticket. Alex Haschel filed for that seat. Foerg said candidates for surveyor and county council district 2 on the Republican ticket were not filled including vacancies of assessor, clerk, coroner, county council district 4 and prosecutor on the Democrat ticket.
