Organizers of the annual Marshall County Blueberry Festival are pleased with the City of Plymouth’s decision to pause funding and placement of the new Centennial Park tennis courts.
The Blueberry Festival Executive Committee says in a statement they’ve been concerned the development north of the existing tennis courts would interfere with the balloon glow, fireworks show, carnival and Hoosier Old Wheels car show during the annual Labor Day weekend festivities. “Each year these events help attract a large number of Festival-goers, in turn benefiting numerous businesses, raising funds for nonprofit organizations and spotlighting Plymouth and Marshall County.”
The organizers add they are looking forward to meeting with city and park board officials, the Tennis Club and other stakeholders to resolve any issues in a manner satisfactory to all concerned.
