A New Carlisle Volunteer Firefighter killed while battling a Tuesday night blaze at a LaPorte County business will be laid to rest on Monday. Visitation for Assistant Chief Jamie Middlebrook will take place Sunday from 2 until 7 p.m. at the Everest-Rohrer Auditorium at Bethel College. His funeral will also be at the school on Monday, Aug. 11 at 11 a.m. WNDU-TV reports a procession will follow from the school to the front of the New Carlisle Fire Department, where a short ceremony will take place. Middlebrook’s body will proceed on a fire truck, followed by a foot procession of firefighters, to the New Carlisle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the “New Carlisle Fire Department Jamie Middlebrook Memorial” at any 1st Source Bank location.
