Three teams were penalized from the weekend’s NASCAR races.
The No. 17 truck driven by Timothy Peters in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series was found to have improper sizes of throttle shafts and plates. As a result of the infraction, crew chief Paul Richmond was fined $7,500 and placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31.
A pit crew member on Norm Benning’s No. 6 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team was using an unapproved battery powered impact wrench. The team will be penalized with loss of track time during the opening practice at Michigan International Speedway on Aug. 15.
A weight fell out of Carl Long’s No. 23 NASCAR Nationwide Series car during the race on Aug. 2 at Iowa Speedway. As a result, crew chief Jonas Bell has been fined $10,000 and placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31.
