Organizers of next weekend’s WoodStarke Festival at Wythogan Park in Knox are looking for vendors for the farmer’s market and artists who would like to display their wares. The Art in the Park area will be along the walkway near the Yellow River. Participants must bring their own easels or other displays. Sales are not allowed during the event, but arrangements may be made for later purchase.
The farmer’s market area is open to gardeners who have more vegetables than their families can eat as well as to larger-scale farmers. There’s no charge for artists or farmers to set up at the festival.
Activities get under way at noon on Saturday, Sept. 13 and continue through early evening. The day will feature a mix of family-friendly activities including musical performances, a Starke County scavenger hunt, Moving Starke County Forward One Mile at a Time walk through the park, free healthy snacks and drinks, dance lessons and open mic opportunities for would-be performers. Organizers ask that all musical selections be suitable for audience members of all ages.
Healthlinc will also offer dental evaluations by appointment for a nominal charge. Call 574-772-7400 to set up an appointment. The rest of the events are free. Visit the WoodStarke Facebook page or email woodstarke2014@yahoo.com for more information.
