A Mishawaka man faces illegal hunting and drug charges in LaPorte County. Indiana Conservation Officers reportedly saw Jason Nehring, 39, shinning a spotlight in a field near the Kingsbury Fish and Wildlife Area in search of deer Tuesday night. The officers pulled his vehicle over and reportedly found several items used to hunt deer, including a compound bow and a handgun, along with marijuana and paraphernalia. Indiana Conservation Officers note it is illegal to shine a light while in search of deer with any type of firearm or hunting equipment inside the vehicle.
