Two focus group sessions are planned this week to gather information from residents, merchants, community leaders and others to be part of the city of Knox’s comprehensive plan.
Input from these sessions will help the city determine what types of improvements need to be made and strategies to make those improvements that have been deemed a priority.
Green3 is working with the city in these networking sessions to prepare a comprehensive plan. A grant from the Office and Community and Rural Affairs will be used to help fund this process.
In a previous meeting, officials toured the city and highlighted the downtown area as a possible revitalization area. The group pointed out the city’s assets which include the parks, community center, rural living and leadership in the community.
A clean, safe and practical area in which to live is envisioned along with having trustworthy, stable services available of which to be proud.
One session is scheduled at 3 p.m. on Wednesday and another at 6 p.m. CT in the executive room in the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center in Knox.
