The September unemployment report shows Starke County with the lowest rate since November of 2007
Starke County had a rate of 5.5 percent unemployment in the month of September which matches the U.S. rate. That four-tenths of a percentage drop ranks Starke County 16th in the state.
Pulaski County had a small drop to 4.1 percent while Marshall County had a drop of two-tenths with a rate of 4.9 percent. Pulaski County ranks 85th in the state in terms of unemployment and Marshall County has a ranking of 46th.
All of the surrounding counties reported a drop in unemployment numbers: Fulton County reported 5.1 percent, St. Joseph with 5.9 percent and Porter had 5.5 percent.
