Knox City officials will have a better idea after the first of the year how a five year downtown revitalization plan will look. A second public meeting was held last night to gather information from residents, merchants, community leaders and others about a vision for the comprehensive plan. Input from these sessions has helped the city determine what types of improvements need to be made.
Indianapolis-based Green3 is working with city officials. The preliminary work is being funded through a state grant. Knox Mayor Rick Chambers says the next meeting should bring more clarity to the revitalization proposal.
“Green3 the company that we hired will take the information that they gathered from last night’s meeting and they will interpret those thoughts and come back with some ideas to work forward,” said Chambers.
Chambers says they wanted to get as many people as possible to attend these meeting and voice their ideas on ways to improve the city. He says the next meeting will take place the first week of January. An official date has not been set.
