The West Central School Board members took care of several items of business during their meeting last week.
Superintendent Don Street commented that the school board discussed the enrollment within the career and technical courses and the financial reimbursement of those courses.
“At the state level, they are discussing changing the financial reimbursement for career and technical courses. If they change it, that could have a negative impact upon our General Fund and our financing of such programs. It’s not just at West Central, it’s across the state,” said Street.
The Indiana Department of Education released school grades last week and Street commended all in the effort to raise grades.
“We’d like to congratulate our students and staff on the academic improvements and achievements at all of our buildings. The Indiana Department of Education released letter grades and the elementary school earned an A, our middle school earned a C and the high school level earned an A. Overall our district earned a B.”
