The Winamac Town Council is considering a new recreational water area to fill the void of the now closed Pulaski County Family YMCA swimming pool. It is an outdoor water play area with fountains and minimal standing water. The council approved the hiring of Fort Wayne-based Martin Riley Architects to do the initial design for a cost of $2,500.
The project carries an estimated price tag of $300,000. A final decision on whether to proceed with the work will be made after the design is finished. The council may apply for a grant from the Pulaski County Community Foundation to help offset that cost. Council President John Plowman stresses the project is in the very early planning stages.
