Funeral services are Thursday, Dec. 11 1 p.m. at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel in Knox for the two people killed in a Friday morning house fire.
Preliminary autopsy results indicate Lucas Fisher, 2, died of smoke inhalation from carbon monoxide. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Linda Manns, 51, died Saturday night at a Fort Wayne hospital. A representative from the Allen County Coroner’s Office tells WKVI News she suffered extensive thermal burns and died as a result of complications. Her death was ruled accidental. Manns had made funeral pre-arrangement plans which made it easier for the family.
Her husband, Carl, was injured trying to rescue her from the house. He was released Sunday from St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, according to a spokeswoman.
An online fund to cover the cost of Manns’ funeral expenses has been set up on the website GoFundMe.com.Visit http://www.gofundme.com/ih75no to contribute.
Fire investigators are still looking into the cause. An investigator from the state fire marshal’s office has tentatively determined it started accidentally. Bass Lake Fire Chief Les Jensen tells WKVI News quite a bit of time will be spent ensuring a thorough investigation is completed.
