Only a few bricks remain of the demolished Washington Township School.
According to township officials, Chris Loehmer Excavating successfully took down the building in mid-November. All of the debris has been removed. The park is now open, but patrons are warned that some small pieces of glass are still present which could cause injury.
It is not known yet what officials will do with the site. Previous discussions have led to the formation of a park with more playground equipment or the construction of a gazebo. Again, no plans have been finalized. It is the goal of the Washington Township Board to tackle that when the board meets again. A date and time have not been scheduled.
Bricks are available at the site to those who would like a momento.
