More candidates have filed for the municipal election.
The Starke County Clerk’s office saw three new filings this past week. Two Incumbents filed for office including Republican Donna Henry for North Judson Clerk-Treasurer and Democrat Brian Earnest for Hamlet Town Board in Ward 1. Democrat Bertha Blue filed for an at-large seat on the Knox City Council.
Four candidates have signed up in the Pulaski County Clerk’s Office. Democrat Christine Fox has filed for another term on the Monterey Town Council and Douglas Allan Denton filed for a Monterey Town Council position on the Democrat ticket. Linda McCune is the Incumbent Clerk-Treasurer for the Town of Monterey and she is seeking re-election. The other candidate to file was Melanie Berger for Winamac Clerk-Treasurer. She currently holds that position.
A race has developed for Plymouth Mayor. Democrat Anthony P. “Tony” Gamble filed for office last week and will oppose Democrat Rex A. Crump in that race. Incumbent Republican Mark Senter previously filed for re-election for Mayor.
New filings in Marshall County last week include Bill Walters for an at-large seat on the Plymouth City Council; Mike Leman, Heath Thornton and Michael Venable for Bremen Town Council seats, and Jean Rakich for Culver Town Council. All of these candidates filed on the Republican ticket.
