Starke County officials are making plans for a May 22nd open house to celebrate the completion of the Starke County Sheriff’s Office and Detention Center. Contractors are putting final touches on the new facility east of Knox on State Road 8 and will have the building ready to turn over to the county by May 1st.
Sheriff Bill Dulin and Starke Circuit Judge Kim Hall are finalizing their invitation lists and are working with commissioner and Starke County Building Corporation Chair Kathy Norem on plans for the gala. Norem told fellow building corporation members plans call for an Honor Guard presentation, a memorial garden dedication, guided tours of the new facility and refreshments.
