Friday Morning Incident Brings Response at Knox Schools

An incident Friday morning at Knox Middle School prompted school officials to disallow students outdoors during the school day.

According to officials with the Knox School Corporation, two non-students from the Chicagoland area attempted to enter the Middle School building at the start of the school day. Individuals near the building expressed concern after allegedly spotting the individuals attempting to enter vehicles in the parking lot.

Police were called to the scene, but the individuals in question had already left the area.

An e-mail alert from Knox Elementary School Principal Glenn Barnes says students at the elementary school will also remain inside throughout the day.

Knox Schools Superintendent A.J. Gappa says the situation has been handled appropriately.
