After looking at the price of meals at the West Central School Corporation, the school board decided to increase the price of breakfast and lunch prices for the 2015-2016 school year.
Superintendent Don Street says the breakfast prices went up slightly, while a little more was added to lunch prices.
“School breakfast will increase by five cents at the middle school and high school with no increase to the elementary breakfast,” Street comments. “There is a 30 cent increase in the lunch price for the middle school and high school and a 20 cent increase for the elementary school.”
Lunch prices rose 10 cents last year.
Street says a few textbook rental fees will also increase.
“Textbook rental fees for the elementary will remain about the same with a slight increase of about four dollars for the third grade. Six through 12 is dependent on the course selections that the students take. We’re also continuing our 15-dollar technology fee that was in place for this year.”
