Friday’s festivities were a good way to start off the weekend but the fun at Bass Lake continues today and tomorrow.
We have an early start today with registration for the 5K Run and Walk taking place at 6:30 am in the Bass Lake Lion’s Building. There is $20 fee when registering the day of, and a t-shirt is not guaranteed. The start time for the 5K is 7:30 am. Registration for the kids fun run is at 8 am also in the Bass Lake Lion’s Building and there is a $5 entry fee. The fun run begins at 8:30 am. Kids will be divided into the following age groups: 3-years-old and younger, kids 4 to 6, and children from 7 to 10-years-old.
A car show is being held from 9 am until 3 pm at Bielava Resort north of Sporty’z. All vehicles are welcome and registration will last from 9 am until noon. There is a $15 registration fee.
From 9 am until 5 pm come to the Bass Lake Property Owners Association Building to see entries from photography contest and the ‘cover your bass’ craft contest. Participants received a wooden cutout of a fish and were asked to decorate it. The fish were then entered in either the most realistic, most humorous or most creative category and will be on display this weekend.
Starting at 10 am a water volleyball tournament will take place at the beach until the close of Saturday’s activities. Sailboat races will also run all day starting at 11 am at Irish Shores. A cornhole tournament will run from 10 am until 3 pm across from the Fingerhut bakery. In the same area from 3 until 4 pm a magic show will be displayed.
From 4:30 until the end of the day there will be an ice cream eating contest in Fingerhut Bakery. Bouncy houses will be in the parking lot of the bakery. The Little Miss and Little Mister Bass Lake contest will begin at 4 pm in the BLPOA Building. It will be followed by the Miss Bass Lake contest at 5:30 pm.
Bass Lake Bum Art Studio will be hosting their final bass lake and canvas event from 5 until 7 pm. The beer garden will be open from 6 until 11 pm. Saturday will end with a fantastic fireworks display over the lake which will commence at sunset, approximately 9 pm. If it rains the display will be shifted to Sunday evening.
Start out your final day of the festival with a Sunday morning Lion’s Club pancake breakfast at the Bass Lake fire house from 7 until 11 am. Registration for the bike race will be at 7 am. There is a $20 registration fee and there is no guarantee you will receive a shirt. The race is approximately 8 miles long and will start and finish at the Bass Lake Lion’s Club. Riders will go around the lake once. All participants are required to wear a helmet and must at least 13-years-old.
Registration for the cardboard boat race will be at the beach from 9:30 until 10 am. The race will start at 10:30 am. Bouncy houses will still be in the parking lot of Fingerhut bakery, there are various charges for entry. The big event on Sunday is of course the parade which will begin at 1 and run until 3 pm. Lineup at Western & State County Road 210 and the parade will end at the Bass Lake Pub and Ristorante. The parade reviewing stand will be at Sporty’z Grill and Bar.
