Tomorrow marks the start of the annual Bass Lake Festival and this year’s fest is even more full of fun activities for the whole family.
Kick the weekend off with the fishing derby being held on Friday and Saturday at 3612 South CR 210. The entry fee is $1 for participants under 18 and $2 for those 18 and older. Registration for the water pong tournament will be at 5 pm and the event will from from 6 until 11 pm across from the Fingerhut Bakery.
Bass Lake and Canvas will run from 5 until 7 pm on Friday and Saturday. Participants of all ages get a chance to receive painting instruction and walk away with their own work of art. There is a $20 charge for each person and that covers the cost of the canvas, paints, supplies and a treat. The proceeds collected from this event help raise funds for the festival.
Food vendors will be in various locations at the lake and a beer garden will be available on Friday and Saturday across from the Fingerhut bakery from 5 until 11 pm on Friday and from 6 until 11 pm on Saturday.
Saturday morning there will be a 5K Run/Walk as well as a kids fun run, registration is required. A car show is being held from 9 am until 3 pm at the Bielava Resort located north of Sporty’s at 4257 S 675 E. Bouncy houses will be in the Fingerhut parking lot on Saturday and Sunday. A water volleyball tournament will take place at bass lake beach from 10 am until the close of festivities. It will be followed at 11 am by sailboat races at Irish Shores located at 5946 S CR 210.
Saturday afternoon in the Bass Lake Property Owners Building the Little Miss & Little Mister Bass Lake Pageant will take place at 4 pm. The Miss Bass Lake contest will start at 5:30 pm. Arts and crafts, food and live entertainment will be provided. Saturday’s celebration will come to a close with a fireworks display on the lake starting at dusk, approximately 9 pm. If it rains the display will be moved to Sunday evening.
