Newly appointed pastor Dr. Dean Fager will preach his first message to the congregation of the Knox United Methodist Church tomorrow morning. The worship service begins at 9:16 a.m.
“I’m really excited about being here in Knox, not because everything is wonderful and great, but simply because of people that I’ve met so far indicate to me that this is a community that cares,” Fager said. “I’m looking forward to being part of a community that’s a caring community that looks for one another, that seeks to make others better. I’m really looking forward to my time in Knox.”
As a part-time pastor, he and his wife Jan will continue live in Plymouth.
He is a native of Redkey, Indiana, where he was graduated from high school. He has a Doctor of Ministry degree from Drew University. He also has a Master of Theology degree from Boston University School of Theology and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Evansville University.
Dr. Fager began ministry in Decatur, Indiana in 1972. He has served United Methodist churches in Plymouth, Albany, Osceola, Fort Wayne and Peru. He has consulting work at the North Judson United Methodist Church while on staff at the Methodist North Indiana Conference.
