Following citizen calls on the length of the grass at Highland Cemetery in North Judson, the situation has been remedied.
North Judson Clerk-Treasurer Donna Henry says the grass was mowed on Wednesday of this week.
The Town contracts mowing services to Scherf’s Lawn Service. As part of the agreement, the company mows grass at the cemetery eight times throughout the growing season. Additional mowing can be approved with the recommendation of the North Judson Town Council.
The Town inquired about the mowing schedule with the company, but the service was completed prior to a return message. Residents had called to express concerns about the look of the cemetery according to Henry.
Should the grass length become unsightly, Henry says residents can mow grave plots which belong to them. Cemetery rules are expected to be followed.
