Longtime Community Services of Starke County Executive Director Joan Haugh will be the guest of honor at a gathering there this afternoon. She’s retiring at the end of this month after 41 years with the nonprofit organization.
A retirement reception will take place from 2 until 5 p.m. Friends, clients, colleagues and family members are urged to stop by and reminisce. Any mementos will be collected and put into a scrapbook for her. In lieu of gifts, donations may be made in her honor to Community Services of Starke County.
Community Services of Starke County runs the county food pantry, assists with energy assistance applications and provides a number of nutrition, health and transportation services for the elderly and disabled.
