The Starke County Commissioners are gathering quotes for mowing at the old county landfill. Some trees also need to be cut at the site on 750 East north of State Road 10, and vegetation needs to be removed from the clay cap.
Stump grinding and bulldozing at the site are not allowed. Auditor Kay Chaffins is sending specs to local vendors, and the commissioners plan to hire one to do the work at their July 20 meeting. They also noted the gas monitoring is in compliance with Indiana Department of Environmental Management standards.
