The City of Knox will formally establish an alley between Portland and Bower Streets. The lane between 709 and 801 Bower has been an unofficial cut-through for several years but is not maintained by the city. Steve Dodge owns the property at 801 Bower and asked the city to turn the adjacent pathway into a street. City officials looked at the site and agreed to grade, level and lay gravel to establish a 10 foot alley. Brush that hugs a fence on the south side will be cleared so several large oak trees on the north side will not need to be removed. Dodge plans to build a fence on his property as soon as possible now that the matter is resolved. Once that is done, the city will establish the alley.
