A month long investigation by the Knox Police Department into suspected drug activity ended with five arrests. Officers served a search warrant at 507 S. Heaton Street on Monday and found an active meth lab, multiple items used to manufacture the drug and illegal prescription medications, according to a news release.
Those arrested include 54-year-old James C. Clemons of Knox, 50-year-old Carmen Clemons of Knox, 22-year-old Levi Clemons of Knox, 20-year-old Payge Craft of Knox and 30-year-old Jacqueline Beem of Winamac. They all face preliminary charges of manufacturing methamphetamine as a level five felony. Formal charges are pending.
Members of the Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team assisted with the investigation and processed the meth lab.
