The Monterey Town Council will have a new member in January. Democratic Party voters chose between four candidates for three seats during a Saturday morning town convention. After two ballots, Jim Fleury, Emily Baily and Doug Denton emerged victorious. Denton will replace Chris Fox when the new council members are sworn in. No Republicans filed, so this served as the town election. Monterey’s population is too small to participate in the May municipal primaries, so the convention was necessary.
