The Pulaski County Commissioners will allow the Highway Department to move forward with a hiring decision.
A bookkeeping position in the Highway Department opened for reasons that have led to some quarrelsome exchanges between the Pulaski County Commissioners.
During their Monday meeting, the commissioners indicated that Highway Department Supervisor Terry Ruff recommended a candidate to fill the currently vacant position.
It was learned during Monday’s meeting that the candidate proposed for hire may have come under question by at least one commissioner. An Executive Session was scheduled Thursday afternoon to ask questions of Ruff and to potentially come to a resolution.
According to Pulaski County Commission President Larry Brady, the Commissioners agreed to allow Ruff to ultimately make the hiring decision. Brady said “it was a productive meeting” and a good discussion.
An announcement on a hire could be made in the near future.
