Flu shots are now available at IU Health VNA in Hamlet. The vaccinations will be offered to people age nine and older, and pneumonia vaccines will also be available.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends everyone over the age of six months get a flu shot, but those most at risk for the flu include adults over the age of 65, women who are pregnant or have recently given birth, and residents of nursing homes and shared living spaces. Kids younger than five are also at risk, and IU Health says to contact the child’s healthcare provider for vaccine information.
Flu shots from IU Health VNA cost $30, and pneumonia vaccines are $85. They will accept cash or bill Medicare for those who are eligible.
IU Health VNA in Hamlet is located at 5955 E. 600 North. Vaccines are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
If you can’t make it to Hamlet, IU Health will also be hosting eight neighborhood clinics throughout the area with vaccinations available.
