The Knox City Council has approved the transfer of money in both its General Fund and its Park and Recreation Fund.
During its meeting Tuesday, the council voted to move $2,000 in the Police Department’s budget from equipment repair to postage, travel, and telephone. The Fire Department had $1,000 moved from personal protective equipment to postage, travel, and telephone. In the Park Department’s budget, $488.49 was moved from maintenance to the recreation director.
Clerk-Treasurer Jeff Houston also reminded the council that a public hearing on the budget will take place at the next meeting.
Additionally, Councilman Greg Matt recognized Mary Jane Bendt for her efforts in organizing last month’s WoodStarke festival, congratulating her on a good festival in spite of the rain. She also thanked the city for its support of the festival.
