LaPorte Police are searching for a suspect after an armed robbery over the weekend.
According to information provided by the police department, the incident occurred in the 100 block of East Lincolnway on Saturday morning. Officers arrived on scene several minutes before 3:00 a.m. to the gas station.
The clerk at the location said the suspect entered the business, brandishing a handgun and allegedly demanded money. The convenience store employee provided cash to the suspect, prompting the assailant to take off on foot. The exact amount is not known by the store or the police at this time.
LaPorte Police have not yet determined a suspect, but provided a description, saying he was wearing a green long-sleeved shirt, and a White Sox cap. A white shirt was used to wrap around his head and face.
