Head to Monterey for a weekend of fun during the 18th annual Monterey Days Festival. This year’s theme is “Your Window to the World.” Festivities get underway at 6 p.m. EDT with the Mister and Miss Monterey Days Pageant. Food and craft booths will also be open. After the pageant, Ruff Kutt entertainment will play music.
Start the day Saturday with a pancake and sausage breakfast sponsored by the Knights of Columbus from 8 until 10:30 a.m. After you eat, hit the town-wide yard sales, or let the kids enjoy free rides. Other Saturday highlights include karaoke contests for children and adults, a pedal tractor pull, mini excavating rodeo, and a K9 demonstration by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department. Look for the WKVI and MAX 98.3 FM station vehicle in the parade at 5 p.m. The Monterey-Tippecanoe Township Public Library is this year’s grand marshal.
