Pulaski County saw its Legacy Project approved prior to celebrating Indiana’s 200th year in existence.
Approval follows a meeting of the Indiana Bicentennial Commission in Lake County on September 18th. The commission is made up of 15 members and looks to execute the statewide celebration of Indiana’s birthday.
As part of the legacy project, the group “Quilters of Pulaski County” plans to host an event where the county’s sewers will create a Pulaski County themed quilt. The fabric will showcase unique, historic, and interesting places in the squares of the quilt according to information provided by the Pulaski County Bicentennial Commission.
80 Legacy Projects saw approval this round in Lake County.
Once the quilt has been completed, the artwork will travel Pulaski County in 2016 being displayed in libraries, schools, and other sites for residents to observe.
