The Hamlet Town Board last night took action to accept a proposal from JD Excavating to raze two abandoned houses in the town. The work will begin pending the building inspector’s final approval.
Discussion followed a resident’s inquiry about providing Hamlet residents access to a Bank ATM near the Town Hall. An alternative plan also under discussion was for the town itself to purchase am automatic teller machine to provide the service.
The Street Department reported its equipment is ready for the winter season and that a supply of salt has been arranged.
When the Park Board convened, it took action to purchase additional playground equipment including a “Copper Canyon Play Station” for older children and to install a new water fountain in the town park next spring. Other playground installations are under consideration.
A citizen asked for permission to develop a “haunted trail” for the 2016 Halloween season. The Board expressed support for such a project.
