A pair of Hammond men face felony burglary charges in LaPorte County after sheriff’s deputies reportedly caught them trying to flee from a Wanatah business early Monday morning.
The officers responded within three minutes to an alarm call at Pactiv Corporation on U.S. 30 just east of Wanatah. When they arrived at 2:41 a.m. they saw two suspects running from the back of the building.
One was apprehended before he was able to climb over a fence, according to the police report. The other was located just outside the fenced property. Both were arrested without incident, and items believed stolen were recovered.

The suspects are identified as 22-year-old Julio Feliciano and 36-year-old Carlos Santiago. They are scheduled to make their initial court appearances in LaPorte County tomorrow.
