A LaPorte woman is facing charges following what investigators say is a series of Arsons in the community.
42-year-old Shonda Shropshire was taken into custody on October 16th. She is accused of starting four separate fires that occurred in the 800 block of Clay Street in September of this year.
The address is a four unit apartment building where Shropshire was living at the time. During one of the incidents, a LaPorte Police officer sustained injuries after attempting to enter the building when he heard Shropshire yelling that she was trapped inside her apartment.
As part of the alleged incidents, she is being charged with felony counts of Arson Resulting in Injury, and four more counts of Arson.
Shropshire is being held at the LaPorte County Jail on a $2,500 cash bond.
