Pulaski County Democratic Party members recently voted to endorse candidates for governor and U.S. Senate in 2016.
They’re backing former Indiana House Speaker John Gregg for governor. He came within less than three points of beating Gov. Mike Pence in 2012. The potential rematch is only the second in Indiana gubernatorial history and the first since 1834. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz briefly considered a run for governor but opted instead to seek reelection to her current office. State Sen. Karen Tallian of Portage also declined a run for the state’s highest office.
Pulaski County Democrats have also endorsed former U.S. Rep. Baron Hill in his quest to succeed U.S. Sen. Dan Coats. The Republican is retiring in 2016 at the end of his term.
