The Starke County Sheriff’s Department says two have been arrested on meth-related charges following a Tuesday incident.
Officers responded to the area of a Bass Lake bakery on County Road 210 following a complaint of illegal drugs. Once on scene, authorities spoke with a female inside a car they believed to be under the influence of narcotics.
A request was made to search the vehicle, but officers were denied entry. The K-9 unit was brought to the scene and positively identified the presence of narcotics. According to information released by the Sheriff’s Department, they noticed a bag was thrown into the grass.
Testing of the substance revealed methamphetamine.
36-year-old Joshua Warner of Fort Wayne was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamines, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Possession of Paraphernalia, and Conversion. 22-year-old Stephanie McKenna of LaPorte was arrested for Visiting a Common Nuisnance, Conversion, and Disorderly Conduct.
Both are awaiting an initial hearing in Starke County Circuit Court.
