Prospective voters in today’s Starke County municipal and referendum elections must cast ballots in the precincts in which they reside, according to Starke County Clerk Vicki Cooley
Voters who live within the municipal boundaries of Hamlet, North Judson and Knox will weigh in on town and city races. Residents of the North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation will decide whether to pass a property tax increase in order to make up for a significant general fund budget shortfall. The corporation is comprised of Wayne, Jackson, Railroad and California Township District 2 in Starke County and Rich Grove and Cass Townships in Pulaski County.
Anyone with questions about where they vote or their registration status can contact the Starke County Clerk’s Office at 574-772-9160 or 574-772-9161. All voters must show a government-issued photo ID at their polling place. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. local time today. Any voter who is in line at 6 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
