The Pulaski County Public Library’s Medaryville branch is slated to close at the end of the year. Library Board President Judy Heater says that decision was made due to a decline in patrons and the expense of providing materials and services.
She says the library board is currently looking for a partner to keep the building open so community members can access computers and wireless Internet service. No formal arrangements have been finalized yet.
Free wi-fi will still be available after the library closes for patrons who park within a close proximity to the building. The books, videos and other materials at the Medaryville branch will be returned to Winamac at the end of the year.
The closure will leave the Francesville-Salem Township Public Library as the only option for residents on the west side of Pulaski County.
