The low bid to replace the bridge on 700 North over Robbins Ditch came in well below the engineer’s estimate of $419,000.
The county received four bids for the project and accepted the low bid from Mishawaka-based Northern Indiana Construction Company for $343,554.84. Highway Superintendent Rik Ritzler vouched for the quality of the work they perform. The actual bridge replacement will be done in the spring.
