A LaPorte man has been arrested after police believe he sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl.
Officers were called to IU Health LaPorte Hospital around midnight on Christmas Day to investigate the matter, and speak with the victim. It was determined that 18-year-old Troy Hensely and the victim had been in contact that day. Hensley was found by police to be wanted for outstanding warrants on Intimidation and Theft.
According to information released by the LaPorte Police Department, Hensley had allegedly been at the girl’s home earlier in the day, but was asked to leave the residence. The victim later began walking to a neighbor’s house in the 200 block of Pine Lake Avenue on LaPorte. It was on her walk that Hensley alleged grabbed the victim and held his hand over her mouth to prevent her from screaming. Police accuse Hensley of sexually assaulting the girl during the incident.
The victim was taken by a parent to the hospital for treatment and was transferred to a South Bend hospital for additional examination.
LaPorte Police arrested Hensley the next day. Apart from his warrant, he is facing multiple charges, including: felony counts of Rape and two separate felony counts of Child Molesting.
He is currently being held at the LaPorte County Jail on a $25-thousand bond.
