An investigation is ongoing after a bullet entered a home in LaPorte on Thursday morning.
Police were called to the 300 block of Harrison Street around 10:00 a.m. The residents were awoken in the early morning hours, around 2:30 a.m., to a loud noise. They investigated the matter, but found nothing unusual, eventually returning to sleep.
Later that morning, drywall was located on some of the furniture inside the home. A hole in the main floor ceiling was discovered, but the bullet did not enter the bedroom or cause additional damage.
Officers were initially called to the area following the reported gunshots and located 11 spent 9mm casings in the middle of the intersection.
LaPorte Police investigators are asking for the public’s help. Anyone with information is being asked to call the LaPorte Police Department.
