The town of North Judson is already taking most of the risk control measures recommended by their insurance company. That list includes annual employee motor vehicle road reviews, performing a documented fire safety inspection at all county-owned buildings and documenting all sewer maintenance. The town council reviewed the list of recommendations when they met earlier this week.
They also have a street sign inspection policy in place and make sure all major police and fire department vehicle repairs are done by certified mechanics. The insurance company also recommends volunteer firefighters show proof of personal vehicle liability insurance. That was not previously done, but town officials say it will not be a problem to request that information.
North Judson Clerk-Treasurer Alicia Collins told the council she will complete and submit the paperwork to 1st Source Insurance by Tuesday, Jan. 26th.
