A winter weather advisory is in effect for the entire WKVI listening area until noon Eastern, 11 a.m. Central today. The National Weather Service advises periods of snow will cause travel difficulties. Motorists should be prepared for snow-covered roads and use caution while driving.
Light to occasionally moderate snow showers are expected this morning. They will bring storm total accumulations to 2 to 4 inches. West northwest winds between 20 and 30 miles per hour will lead to considerable blowing and drifting snow, and winds may gust to around 40 miles per hour this morning.
The combination of strong winds and snow-covered, slick and hazardous roads will make driving difficult. Visibility will also be reduced due to falling and blowing snow.
