A weekend of fun, activities, and chilly weather kicks-off this afternoon in Culver.
The 2016 Winterfest begins at 3:00 p.m. and will run through Sunday afternoon. The community has been hosting the event for several years as a way to encourage involvement and tourism in Culver during what is otherwise considered indoor weather.
That’s not to say there isn’t plenty going on. According to a schedule of events in the lake community, ice sculpture displays and carving demonstrations will take place on Friday.
Ice skating, the polar plunge, and ice fishing lessons will be held on Saturday. The weekend will wrap up with a chili competition and ice fishing tournament weigh-in during the afternoon on Sunday.
The Culver business community also hosts shopping events for individuals interested in perusing Culver’s various shopping and dining opportunities.
Event organizers have been planning for some time to host the event.
