A local market offering environmentally-sustainable food will be closing its store. The Earthworks Market located at 900 W. Jefferson Street in Plymouth will close for business on Friday, but it will continue in a new form.
That’s according to a statement released by the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ, who sponsor the market. Officials with Earthworks plan to redirect the organization’s resources to other outlets for selling its products. They say Earthworks will continue to take part in the Plymouth Farmers Market, and the organization’s summer camps and programs will also continue.
For now, though, the market will be selling off the current inventory at its store on Friday, February 26 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST and again on Saturday, March 5 from 8:00 to 3:00, when the store will reopen for a farewell party. By that time, its staff plans to be able to share more information about its future plans. Updates will also be posted on the Earthworks website.
