The National Weather Service announced earlier this week that tornadoes were confirmed near the Town of Hanna.
Rains swept through the area for most of the day on Thursday, but according to eyewitnesses two tornadoes briefly made an appearance. The National Weather service says both tornadoes occurred around 1:30 p.m.
One funneled in the area County Road 1600 South and South County Road 900 West. According to reports, a large pole barn was damaged. Most of the roof was removed in the incident.
A second twister appeared in the area of State Road 39 and West County Road 1150 South. Investigators reported heavy damage to trees and power lines in the area.
